The Burnier International Ocular Pathology Society (BIOPSY) was created in 2008 to commomerate the 10-year anniversary of the Henry C. Witelson Ocular Pathology Laboratory, located within the Research Institute at the McGill University Health Centre in Montreal, Canada. Under the direction of Dr. Miguel Burnier, the Laboratory has had more than 200 trainees, including ophthalmologists, pathologists, fellows, residents, graduate students and medical students, graduate from the lab since its inception - all of whom are current members of the Society. The Society holds biennial conferences to unite past and current lab members and to encourage ongoing research in the fields of ophthalmology and pathology.
BIOPSY 2016 was a great success! The conference - held at the Omni Hotel in Montreal, Quebec - was the Society's largest conference to date, with more than 90 attendees, including influential guest speakers in the fields of ophthalmology and pathology from around the world. We would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to all who participated and presented at the BIOPSY 2016 conference - without your commitment and ongoing support, this would not have been made possible. Please continue to visit our website for updates and upcoming events that may be of interest to you. We have already commenced planning for BIOPSY 2018 and welcome your suggestions!
